- The study investigated the association between midlife changes in alcohol consumption and the risk of postmenopausal breast cancer in a large European cohort.
- No significant association was found between changes in alcohol intake (per 10 g/day increase) and overall postmenopausal breast cancer risk (HR: 0.97, 95% CI 0.93, 1.01).
- Changes in alcohol consumption were also not associated with breast cancer risk when analyzed by hormonal receptor status (ER, PR, HER2).
