Rockstar employees, led by the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB), have formally announced the Rockstar Game Workers Union.
The union was formed partly in response to the disputed firing of over 30 employees last year, which the IWGB calls union busting.
A legal battle is upcoming between the union and Rockstar Games, with a court date already set but not yet publicly disclosed.
The union's goals include advocating for pay transparency, flexible working conditions, and an end to mandatory 'crunch' overtime.
Membership in the union has expanded beyond Rockstar's Edinburgh office to include workers from its London, Leeds, Lincoln, and Dundee locations.
The union has established social media accounts on platforms like BlueSky, Instagram, and Twitter to provide updates and solicit donations for legal support.
