Advoko created a self-propelled chainsaw jig to reduce fatigue and repetitive strain injuries while milling logs on-site using only a chainsaw.
The jig features rubber belts and a carriage to semi-autonomously guide the chainsaw downhill, allowing Advoko to multitask during cuts, though it requires manual setup and operation.
Safety features were implemented over iterations to protect the operator and equipment, with the design inspired by a need to mill a fallen tree on a slope efficiently.
