  • Conversion to open surgery in robotic pancreatoduodenectomy (RPD) is linked to higher major morbidity compared to laparoscopic (LPD).
  • A propensity score-matched analysis using the E-MIPS registry found no difference in conversion rates between RPD and LPD, but major morbidity after conversion was higher with RPD (49% vs. 31%).
  • Higher morbidity after conversion in RPD was observed particularly in high-volume centers, along with increased rates of postoperative pancreatic fistula and greater blood loss.
