- The NAUTILUS trial evaluated responsive thalamic stimulation for drug-resistant idiopathic generalized epilepsy with generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
- Serious adverse device-related events were below the performance goal at 6.9%, with no negative impacts on cognition, mood, or sleep.
- While the primary effectiveness endpoint was not significant, post hoc analysis showed greater GTCS reduction in the Active group (61%) vs Sham (49%).
- At 18 months, there was a 76.8% median GTCS reduction, 62.5% responder rate, and 40% of patients were GTCS-free.
- Over 90% of patients and 86% of physicians reported improvement on Global Impression of Change scales.
