- Urinary bisphenol A (BPA), an endocrine disruptor, is investigated for its link to overactive bladder (OAB) using NHANES data from 2003-2016.
- The study included 9143 participants; 19.7% had OAB, diagnosed via an OABSS score of ≥3.
- Overall, higher BPA tertiles showed a non-significant increased OAB risk (OR=1.15, 95% CI 0.96-1.39, P=0.12).
- In females, after adjusting for confounders, the highest BPA tertile significantly increased OAB risk (OR=1.34, 95% CI 1.05-1.71, P=0.02).
- Findings suggest reducing BPA exposure may help lower OAB risk, particularly in women.
