Sony erases digital content from libraries; reminded we don't own what we buy

Sony informs UK PlayStation customers that previously purchased StudioCanal movies and shows will be unavailable for streaming starting September 1.
A total of 551 titles, including popular films like 'Paddington' and 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day', will be removed from users' libraries due to expired licensing agreements.
There is a possibility that Sony may negotiate a new deal with StudioCanal before or after September 1, allowing customers to retain access, similar to a resolution reached with Discovery content in 2023.
