The Koh-i-Noor diamond is a 186-carat gem believed to carry a curse that only affects men, bringing misfortune or loss of power to male owners, while women can wear it safely.
Throughout history, the diamond passed through many empires and rulers—including Hindu, Mongolian, Persian, Afghan, and Sikh—often through violent conflicts, leading to the collapse of each owning empire or dynasty.
After being acquired by the British in 1849 and given to Queen Victoria, it has only been worn by women, such as Queen Alexandra and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and is now set in a crown displayed at the Tower of London.
