  • The study assessed hepatitis B virus reactivation (HBVr) risk in patients with chronic or occult HBV infection treated with IL-17, IL-23/IL-12, or JAK inhibitors without antiviral prophylaxis.
  • In HBsAg-positive patients, HBVr incidence was highest with JAK inhibitors (40%), followed by IL-17 inhibitors (28%) and IL-12/23 or IL-23 inhibitors (10%).
  • Among HBsAg-negative/anti-HBc+ patients, HBVr risk was low (1%-4%), with anti-HBs negativity showing a modest, non-significant increase in risk.
  • The findings support serostatus-based risk stratification and individualized antiviral prophylaxis, emphasizing pre-treatment HBV screening.
