- Efgartigimod (FcRn inhibitor) is effective in gMG, but about 30% of patients have poor early response.
- 18 gMG patients with poor early response to efgartigimod were switched to eculizumab (complement C5 inhibitor).
- Eculizumab treatment led to significant improvement in MG-ADL and QMG scores, with reductions of 5.3 and 7.4 points respectively.
- All patients achieved clinically meaningful improvement (≥2-point MG-ADL reduction), with 4 reaching minimal symptom expression by week 4.
- After 16 weeks, 58.3% of patients (7 out of 12) achieved minimal symptom expression, and glucocorticoid doses were reduced in 7 patients.
- Safety profile was favorable with only two mild adverse events reported (urinary tract infection and limb edema).
