Apple to end support for Intel Macs next year: macOS 27 to require Apple Silicon

- macOS 26 Tahoe is the last version to support Intel Macs.
- From macOS 27 onwards, only Apple Silicon Macs (2020 M1 models and newer) will be supported.
- Intel Macs will still receive critical security updates for some time but no new features.
- macOS Tahoe does not support some Intel models like MacBook Air and Mac mini.
- Compatible Intel models include 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, 2020 Intel 13-inch MacBook Pro, 2020 iMac, and 2019 Mac Pro.
- macOS 27 will drop support for all legacy Intel machines, making macOS 26 the last compatible version.
- Legacy devices will receive security updates for three more years.
- Minimum supported hardware will be from 2020 onwards, starting with the M1 transition.
