Ford is shifting its EV manufacturing plans due to weakened domestic support and customer enthusiasm.
The company now aims for hybrids, extended-range electrics, and battery-electric models to make up 50% of sales by 2030, up from the previous 40% target.
Ford will no longer produce a large all-electric truck and will repurpose a Tennessee EV plant for gas-powered cars.

Ford canceled an all-electric commercial van for Europe and will partner with Renault to develop small EVs for the European market.
A new gas-powered commercial van for North America is also in the works.
