Gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis (GCPM) is a common and poor-prognosis manifestation of advanced gastric cancer.
The International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA) convened 42 global experts from 15 countries to develop 13 consensus statements on GCPM management.
A structured Delphi process with anonymous Likert-scale voting and a ≥70% consensus threshold was used to refine the statements.
Consensus was achieved for all 13 statements among the working group in the first Delphi round, with 75-100% agreement.
A broader group of 63 experts (including 21 from the working group) agreed on 12 of the 13 statements during the IGCC (2025) GCPM Consensus Session.
No consensus (52% agreement) was reached on the best systemic treatment for GCPM, likely due to rapidly evolving developments in metastatic gastric cancer.
The consensus provides globally relevant GCPM management strategies and highlights critical research gaps to improve patient outcomes.
The goal is to improve care consistency, guide clinical decisions, and identify urgent research needs.
