- Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is linked to vascular dysfunction in type 1 diabetes (T1D).
- Markers like carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV) and carotid-intima media thickness (CIMT) are predictors of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
- The study found MASLD associated with lower nitroglycerine-induced dilation (NID) and higher cfPWV.
- cfPWV, CIMT, and FIB-4 strongly correlated with 5-year ASCVD risk.
- cfPWV was identified as the most robust vascular marker associated with MASLD in T1D patients.
