- Gmail now allows sending end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) emails to anyone, including recipients using different email providers.
- Recipients can access encrypted messages via a guest account without needing to exchange keys or use custom software.
- Admins need to enable this feature at the OU and Group level; it's OFF by default.
- End users with Gmail Client-side encryption access will have this feature ON by default.
- Rollout starts on Sep 30, 2025, with gradual visibility over 15 days for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains.
- Available for Enterprise Plus with the Assured Controls add-on.
