- Intensive blood pressure (BP) reduction was tested for its effects on functional outcomes in deep and lobar intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) via a stepwise meta-analysis of ATACH-2, INTERACT2, and INTERACT3 trials.
- Step 1 (ATACH-2 and INTERACT2) showed no significant difference in poor functional outcomes for either deep (OR 0.89, 95% CI 0.40-1.98) or lobar (OR 0.92, 95% CI 0.73-1.17) ICH.
- Step 2 (adding INTERACT3) also found no significant benefit for intensive BP reduction in deep (OR 0.82, 95% CI 0.57-1.18) or lobar (OR 0.97, 95% CI 0.76-1.24) ICH, with heterogeneity noted in deep ICH results.
