NewPipe Is Turning 10

NewPipe celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of development and growth.
The project has evolved from a solo endeavor to a community-driven initiative with an association, maintainers, and millions of users.
NewPipe e.V., a German association, was founded to support NewPipe and similar projects, and has hired part-time developers to ensure continuous progress.
The project is currently undergoing a major refactor, including a new extractor design and player (NewPlayer), with contributions from both paid and volunteer developers.
Future challenges include technical and legal hurdles from Google, but the team remains optimistic and committed to finding creative solutions.
The community is encouraged to contribute, with open issues and opportunities for collaboration at events like SFSCon, 39C3, and FOSDEM.
