Linux Might Drop the Apple HFS / HFS+ File-System Kernel Driver Support

Linux may drop support for Apple HFS and HFS+ file-system kernel drivers.
Apple no longer supports HFS on macOS 10.15+, and HFS+ remains supported.
Linux HFS support has been poorly maintained and could be removed.
Christian Brauner proposed removing HFS/HFS+ drivers due to being orphaned since 2014.
HFS FUSE driver is an alternative for accessing HFS file-systems in user-space.
Some Linux distributions rely on HFS+ for installing on Intel-based Macs (EFI System Partition).
Decision pending on whether to remove only HFS or both HFS and HFS+ drivers.
