  • SGLT2 inhibitors are evaluated for safety, tolerability, and effects on myocardial recovery and inflammation in acute Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).
  • The study compared 22 SGLT2 inhibitors-treated TTS patients with 44 untreated patients using propensity-score matching.
  • Treated patients showed significantly lower myocardial edema burden (septal and global T2 mapping values) and higher left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) compared to controls.
  • No drug-related adverse effects were observed during hospitalization, and the discontinuation rate at follow-up was low (4.5%).
  • The findings suggest that SGLT2 inhibitors may promote quicker recovery of myocardial function in acute TTS.
