Tmux 3.7 introduces floating panes, which appear above tiled layouts and function like regular panes without being modal, though features like swapping or converting them are not yet supported.
Line number support is added in copy mode with modes such as off, absolute, relative, and hybrid, and clipboard handling is improved with the get-clipboard option.
Enhancements include the focus-follows-mouse option for pane focus, new mouse controls, better list-keys command with sorting and formatting, improved SIXEL image handling, and stricter security sanitization of titles and names.
