A case-control study identified key predictors of MCD, including perianal Crohn's disease and ostomy history.
The study involved 61 MCD cases matched with 122 controls, with 77% of participants being female.
Perianal Crohn's disease was associated with a 6.79 times higher odds of developing MCD.
Having an ostomy history significantly increased the odds of MCD by 72.65 times.
The findings aim to improve understanding of MCD's pathogenesis and guide future research.
