- Study evaluated pulsed field ablation (PFA) outcomes in atrial fibrillation patients with heart failure (HF) using data from the ATHENA registry.
- Patients were stratified into no HF, HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and HF with mildly reduced or reduced EF (HFmrEF/rEF).
- Primary endpoint was freedom from atrial arrhythmias >30 seconds after a 2-month blanking period.
- Among 1,224 patients, 14.4% had HF; 1-year freedom from arrhythmias was higher in no-HF group (81.0%) versus HF group (73.3%).
- In paroxysmal AF, no-HF patients had significantly higher arrhythmia-free rates (82.2%) than HF patients (68.6%); no significant difference in persistent AF patients.
