Two lost episodes of Doctor Who from the 1960s were found in a collector's eclectic film collection.
The episodes feature William Hartnell as the first Doctor and involve a Dalek plan to conquer Earth and the galaxy.
Peter Purves, who played the Doctor's assistant, expressed amazement at the discovery.
Restored versions of the episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer this Easter.
The episodes are part of 'The Daleks' Master Plan' arc, with the first three installments now recovered.
The storyline was originally deemed too violent for some markets and was mostly wiped, leaving many episodes missing.
The discovery was made possible by Leicester's charitable trust Film is Fabulous! (FIF).
The collector's identity remains anonymous, but his eclectic collection included many home videos.
Peter Purves and Doctor Who fans are thrilled by the recovery, which reignites interest in the classic series.
A special screening of the episodes is planned in London on 4 April, with Purves as guest of honor.
