- CTI-related composite adiposity indices, combining inflammation, glycolipid metabolism, and adiposity, were independently associated with increased future cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in middle-aged and older Chinese adults.
- Among the four indices (CTI-BMI, CTI-BRI, CTI-WHtR, CTI-WWI), the highest tertiles showed hazard ratios for CVD ranging from 1.37 to 1.58 compared to the lowest tertiles after multivariate adjustment.
- CTI-WHtR demonstrated the highest standalone 4-year predictive performance (AUC 0.564) and provided modest incremental improvement when added to a baseline risk model, suggesting its role as a supplementary risk marker rather than a standalone tool.
