- ICAM-1 targeted extracellular vesicles (EVs) loaded with HC-070 (ICAM-1+H-EVs) were engineered to mitigate vascular oxidative stress and inflammation in Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome (OSAHS).
- The study utilized a chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) mouse model and IH-treated HUVECs to evaluate the therapeutic potential of ICAM-1+H-EVs.
- ICAM-1+H-EVs enhanced HUVEC uptake, reduced oxidative stress markers (ROS and MDA), and restored antioxidant enzyme activities (SOD and GSH-PX).
- The EVs also suppressed inflammation by lowering TNF-α and IL-6 levels and mitigated mitochondrial ROS and morphological damage.
- The therapeutic approach targets TRPC5-mediated calcium influx, offering a novel strategy to address OSAHS-associated vascular dysfunction.
