Amazon is closing 14 Amazon Fresh grocery stores in the UK.
The remaining five Fresh locations will convert to Whole Foods Market.
Amazon will shift focus to online grocery deliveries in the UK.
Perishables will be added to Same-Day Delivery for UK customers by 2026.
This follows a 2023 contraction where Amazon closed some Fresh and Go stores.
Just Walk Out technology, introduced in 2018 (US) and 2021 (UK), faced cost, accuracy, and privacy concerns.
Amazon stopped using Just Walk Out in US Fresh stores in 2024.
