Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) associates have vacated their GSA headquarters, leaving behind an unusual scene of abandoned children’s toys and mattresses.
DOGE previously took over key government agencies like the Office of Personnel Management and GSA under Trump’s administration, embedding Musk’s associates in high-level roles.
Steve Davis and Nicole Hollander, key Musk lieutenants, were listed as GSA employees, along with other inexperienced technologists like Edward Coristine and Ethan Shaotran.
DOGE operated from a secured sixth-floor space at GSA, raising suspicions among longtime employees about their presence and activities.
Following Musk and his team’s departure in May, the sixth floor reopened, but DOGE associates like Nate Cavanaugh and Justin Fox remain active in GSA.
DOGE continues to embed itself in government projects despite losing its high-profile leadership, maintaining influence over contracts and operations.
