Population attributable fraction of modifiable risk factors for incident hypertension: an analysis of large-scale epidemiological cohort - PubMed

  • Obesity had the highest population attributable fraction (PAF) at 6.36%, followed by sleep disorders (4.11%) and current smoking (3.39%).
  • PAF for obesity decreased with age, being highest among individuals aged <40 years (15.10%) and lowest among those aged ≥65 years (3.70%).
  • Men showed a higher PAF for obesity (7.93%) compared to women (5.02%).
  • The total PAF for all modifiable risk factors was more significant in younger adults and men.
