  • Late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD) heritability was studied across different populations.
  • Heritability estimates varied by method, model, and study populations.
  • Highest heritability was found in the Dutch isolate (78.3%), followed by non-Hispanic Blacks (39.1%), Dominicans (31.7%), and non-Hispanic Whites (29.1%).
  • Adjusting for APOE ε4 reduced heritability estimates by an average of 4.9%.
  • SOLAR-Eclipse estimates were generally higher than S.A.G.E. estimates but followed similar trends.
  • The study highlights that LOAD heritability is dependent on the study population and may reflect differences in LOAD risk by population.
