- Closed-loop automated insulin delivery (AID) systems significantly improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
- AID increases time in normoglycemia by 22.14% (319 minutes/day) and reduces hyperglycemia by 21.04% (303 minutes/day).
- Mean glucose levels decreased by 1.54 mmol/L, and HbA1c levels dropped by 0.80% with AID use.
- Glucose variability (SD) improved significantly, but no significant differences were found in hypoglycemia, total daily insulin, or coefficient of variation (CV).
- Total adverse events were higher with AID, but serious adverse events and severe hypoglycemia were not significantly different.
- The study concludes that AID is effective for glycemic control in T2DM without increasing serious adverse events.
