- The study analyzed treatment rates for hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia in U.S. adults with Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) syndrome using National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data from 2015-2023.
- Only about half of adults with hypertension (51.3%) or hyperlipidemia (48.8%) received treatment, while diabetes treatment was higher at 83.4%.
- Among treated individuals, control rates were suboptimal: blood pressure control achieved in 44.7%, glycemic control in 47.3%, and cholesterol control in 68.2%.
- Treatment gaps were most significant among young adults aged 20-44 years, women, and Hispanic adults, who had the lowest treatment rates.
- The findings highlight substantial opportunities to improve cardiometabolic care in this high-risk population, especially for those with higher cardiovascular risk.
