Rebooted Digg launches early-access community with $5 fee

Digg is being rebooted by original founder Kevin Rose and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
An early-access community called 'Groundbreakers' has been launched for early sign-ups.
Joining Groundbreakers costs a one-time fee of $5 to deter bots, with proceeds going to a nonprofit.
Members get access to updates, mockups, experiments, and a front-row seat to Digg's rebuilding process.
Early members also get first dibs on usernames and a 'Groundbreakers badge' on their profile.
The community is hosted on Circle, a web-based platform for creators.
Nearly 3,000 people had joined by the time the story was published.
