Sony launches Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II LCD TVs with 'True RGB' backlight technology for improved color reproduction and brightness, available in sizes up to 115 inches.
The True RGB system uses individually controlled red, green, and blue LEDs driven by an 'RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro' processor, enhancing color gamut coverage closer to BT.2020 standards.
Bravia 9 II features a matte screen, wider viewing angles, and a new 115-inch size, while Bravia 7 II is a scaled-down version without the matte screen, offered in more size options.
Both models include Google TV, HDMI 2.1 (limited to two ports), Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and a rechargeable backlit remote, but lack Dolby Vision 2 support due to an older MediaTek Pentonic 1000 SoC.
The Bravia 9 II achieves near 4000 nits peak brightness, doubling the Bravia 7 II's brightness, and shows reduced color banding and improved energy efficiency compared to previous models.
Sony's 2026 TV lineup discontinues larger QD-OLED and WOLED sizes, focusing on True RGB and QD-OLED flagships, with pre-orders starting May 27.
