Shunt surgery (VP or LP) is common for idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) in elderly patients.
iNPH often coexists with Alzheimer's disease (AD), for which lecanemab (anti-amyloid-β antibody) is a new treatment.
Lecanemab may cause hemorrhagic complications, raising concerns about the timing of shunt surgery.
Two cases of iNPH and AD treated with shunt surgery and lecanemab showed no hemorrhagic complications.
Safety conclusions remain cautious due to limited case data.
Ethical approvals and patient consents were obtained for the study.
