- iPodLinux Project is an open-source initiative to port Linux onto iPods.
- Successfully ported a customized uClinux kernel to the iPod with a simple UI called podzilla.
- Adds capabilities beyond Apple's firmware, currently safe for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen iPods.
- Ongoing development for newer iPod models, but no support is provided for them.
- Progress can be tracked on the Project Status page or the blog.
