  • Yggdrasil is an experimental compact routing scheme designed as a decentralised, future-proof alternative to structured protocols and for large-scale mesh networks.
  • It supports large or Internet-scale topologies, responds quickly to failures or mobility, and always uses end-to-end encryption for traffic.
  • The system works ad-hoc with no centralisation, is supported on multiple platforms like Linux, macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android, and operates via a lightweight userspace software router.
  • It provides end-to-end encrypted IPv6 routing, with peerings configurable over TCP/TLS on LANs, point-to-point links, or the Internet, using IPv4 or IPv6 for setup.
  • Currently in alpha, Yggdrasil is stable for day-to-day use and being tested by users; involvement is encouraged through exploring network services, visiting developer pages, and reporting issues on GitHub.
