- Study explores the immune microenvironment of RAS-mutated (RASmt) microsatellite stable (MSS) colon cancer (CC).
- Retrospective analysis performed on 161 early-stage and 121 metastatic patients using whole exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, and digital pathology.
- Only a small proportion of cases showed a highly infiltrated immune microenvironment.
- Strong association found between Immunoscore® (IS)-high (13%) and Tumor Lymphocytes Infiltrating Score (TuLIS)-high (25%).
- Immunoscore Immune-Checkpoint (ISIC)-high tumors (52%) had higher mutational burdens and similar microenvironment to IS-high and TuLIS-high tumors.
- Substantial proportion of MSS RASmt CCs exhibit high ISIC scores, suggesting potential for immunotherapy-based trials.
