- BCacheFS is being disabled in openSUSE kernels starting from version 6.17+ due to being externally maintained.
- Users of BCacheFS are advised to follow upstream guidance for installation and usage.
- No new BCacheFS commits will be included in the Linux tree, and openSUSE will not maintain or backport patches for it.
- Current kernel version 6.16.* and Slowroll are not affected by this change.
- BCacheFS may be re-enabled in openSUSE if the maintainer resumes upstream maintenance.
- Users interested in BCacheFS can prepare Kernel Module Packages (KMP) for personal or community use.
