Combined extracranial and intracranial dermoid cyst: A case report and review of the literature - PubMed

Dermoid cysts (DCs) are rare congenital intracranial tumors; combined extracranial and intracranial localization is extremely rare.
A case of a 49-year-old female with a left temporo-parietal extradural and intradural DC presented with signs of increased intracranial pressure.
Surgical resection via wide left temporo-parietal craniotomy was successful, with histopathology confirming DC and postoperative symptom improvement.
Total radical resection is recommended for DCs to prevent serious complications, despite their benign nature, as they can occur widely in intracranial and extracranial spaces.
