  • Robert Nagy has added a port for OpenWV, a free and open-source reimplementation of Google's Widevine CDM.
  • OpenWV is a drop-in replacement for Google's proprietary CDM and implements the same shared library CDM.
  • The port has been tested with Disney+ and is now available in the OpenBSD ports tree.
  • OpenWV requires a device identity file (widevine_device.wvd) to function, which users must obtain and place in /etc/openwv/.
