The author shifted from the Mount Fuji pixel art series to emoji pixel art due to limited time after having a son.
Emojis were chosen as they are tiny works of art and resemble early icons with creative constraints from small resolutions.
In Summer 2019, the author recreated 42 of Apple's emojis as 1-bit pixel art before tiring of the project.
The work is shared under a Creative Commons license, allowing non-commercial use with attribution.
