World's Only Pencil Sharpener Museum

The Paul A. Johnson Pencil Sharpener Museum in Logan, Ohio, houses over 4,000 antique and new pencil sharpeners collected by Rev. Paul A. Johnson.
The museum evokes childhood memories of school days when pencils and sharpeners were significant tools for learning.
The collection began in 1986 with two metal pencil sharpeners shaped like antique cars, a gift from Johnson's wife, Charlotte.
By the time of his death in 2010, Johnson had amassed 3,469 sharpeners, later supplemented by 1,000 more from another collector.
The sharpeners are displayed in thematic groups, including animals, sports, Disney characters, and Barbie, among others.
After Johnson's passing, the collection was donated to the Hocking Hills Tourism Association and moved next to the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center.
The museum underwent a two-year renovation to improve its structure and accessibility, reopening in January 2024 with enhanced display features.
Visitors from around the world are drawn to the museum, which transports them back to their childhoods.
