Meta Platforms Inc. is cutting around 600 jobs from its AI unit, Meta Superintelligence Labs.
The layoffs are part of Meta's effort to move faster in the competitive AI race.
Affected employees were notified via an internal memo on Wednesday.
The newly formed TBD Lab group, which includes many highly-paid recent hires, was not impacted.
