- A three-factor clinical score was developed to stratify outcomes in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) receiving first-line nivolumab plus ipilimumab (NIVO-IPI).
- The score assigns one point each for IMDC poor risk (score ≥3), bone metastasis, and elevated baseline CRP (≥1 mg/dl), with patients grouped into scores 0, 1, or ≥2.
- In a retrospective analysis of 65 patients, the score effectively stratified progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS), with better outcomes in lower score groups.
- Patients with a score of 0 had a 12-month PFS rate of 72.9% and OS rate of 94.4%, while those with a score ≥2 had rates of 14.4% and 54.7%, respectively.
- The tool may help identify patients most likely to benefit from NIVO-IPI in clinical practice, with sustained disease control in low-risk groups and inferior outcomes in high-risk groups.
