Tesla is preparing to launch its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas.
Pro-Tesla influencers on X have received invitations with specific rules, including the presence of a 'Safety Monitor' in the front seat.
The Safety Monitor is a human supervisor with the ability to stop the car, similar to Waymo's autonomous rides.
The service will operate within a geofenced area from 6 AM to 12 AM and will not run in bad weather.
Participants must have a credit card on file, agree not to misuse the service, and avoid sharing negative content on social media.
Unlike Tesla's Full-Self Driving Beta, passengers can relax while the Safety Monitor pays attention.
The launch appears to be a strategic move for Elon Musk to meet his June deadline for a robotaxi network.
