Nordstjernen is an independent web browser written in C, with around 40,000 lines of code.
It is designed to be small enough for one person to read in a long afternoon, and it does not use major browser engines like Blink, Gecko, or WebKit, nor does it include a JIT compiler.
The browser has no telemetry, ensuring user privacy.
Version 0.6.0 was released on 18 May 2026, with full release notes available.
