The effects of remimazolam on emergence agitation in patients undergoing nasal surgery: a clinical randomized controlled trial - PubMed

Remimazolam significantly reduces the incidence of Emergence Agitation (EA) in nasal surgery patients compared to propofol (22% vs. 49%).
Patients in the remimazolam group showed more stable hemodynamics, with lower rates of hypotension (18% vs. 53%) and injection pain (2% vs. 41%).
No significant differences were found between remimazolam and propofol groups in adverse effects like bradycardia, postoperative bleeding, or nausea/vomiting.
The study suggests remimazolam has significant clinical value in surgeries with high EA incidence.
