- The GCC Steering Committee has approved the inclusion of the Algol 68 Front End in trunk as experimental.
- Algol 68 will not be built by default and is not part of the GCC release criteria.
- GCC developers not responsible for Algol 68 may decline to work on related issues.
- The Algol 68 Front End will be removed if it becomes unmaintained or bit rots.
- Jose E. Marchesi is appointed as the maintainer for the Algol 68 front end.
- Algol 68 developers are encouraged to propose changes to ease maintaining front ends outside of trunk.
