Animated 'Firefly' Reboot in Development from Nathan Fillion, 20th TV

Nathan Fillion announced a Firefly animated series in early development at 20th Television Animation.
The animated reboot is being developed through Fillion’s production banner Collision33 in partnership with 20th Television Animation.
Tara Butters and Marc Guggenheim are set to serve as showrunners, with a script already written and early concept art developed with ShadowMachine.
The series will be set between the original 2002 TV run and the 2005 film Serenity.
Fillion received Joss Whedon's blessing for the new iteration.
The announcement was made during a panel and live taping of Fillion and Alan Tudyk’s podcast, with original cast members present.
The news followed a week of social media teases from Fillion and co-stars.
