Ofcom established a Porn Portfolio team to persuade companies to adhere to rules and an enforcement team to investigate non-compliance.
Pornography site owners are also dealing with AI-generated content moderation to avoid illegal material and payment processing issues.
Penalties for non-compliance can reach up to £18m or 10% of global revenue, aimed at deterring violations.
Despite challenges, Ofcom emphasizes engagement with the industry to achieve compliance rather than punitive measures.
